The external internships constitute an educative activity carried out by the university students, monitored by the universities. The external internships offer the students the possibility of complement their academic education and of acquire professional experience through the internship performance in one of the collaborating entities, including companies, institutions and entities, both public and private, in the national or international level, providing a first contact with what is likely to be their working environment.
The objectives of the external internships are, among others, allow students to:
- Meet the working reality of the companies, institutions, and/or entities.
- Apply in the real practice of a collaborating entity the knowledges they acquired during their studies.

The external internships can be carried out in two modalities:

These are those configured as academic activities integrated as subjects within one of the study plans of the centre, like in the External Internships subject in the bachelor’s degrees in the centre, taught in the 4th year. In order to pass this subject the students must perform a stay in an external entity. To do this, there are agreements achieved with different centres.
EXTRACURRICULAR EXTERNAL INTERNSHIPS
These are those that are performed voluntarily during the training period and that, even fulfilling the same purpose than the curricular internships, are not part of the corresponding study plan. However, this type of internship in reflected in the Diploma Supplement, according to the current legislation.
