Computer rooms

Capacity: 24 seats

Small capacity room. Students remain sitting.

Commonly used: seminars and classes which require specific IT infrastructure.

Computer rooms 1 and 2

24 computer stations. WIFI and Ethernet nets.

Rooms with fixed furniture.

Laboratories

Capacity: 12-24 seats

Space equipped with the laboratory materials and equipment required to perform practices from different subjects taught in the centre.

Commonly used: practices perform, theoretical-practical assessments, exercises or projects which require specific technologies.

There is an open study room in the polytechnic building to which every student can access, with 50 seats, that can be used both for individual and team work.

Other material resources in the centre
In addition to the infrastructures and resources in particular teaching and learning spaces there is material that can be used by teachers and students during their activities in the centre. The use of this material is controlled by the concierge services of the faculty by means of an established system which includes the commitment to an adequate use. The available material is: laptops, digital projectors, video players, monitors, ladders, connexion wires, etc. However, students must afford the materials needed to develop the programmed assessments in the different subjects.

The central Library in the Campus of Ourense offers the following services:

Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 9 pm

 

At the Library you can find, in its teaching collections, at least one copy of all the books recommended by the teachers of the different subjects taught in the Faculty of Sciences. This list is reviewed every year, as soon as the study guides of all the subjects in the centre are remitted to the Dean Office by the teaching staff.

Moreover, the facilities comply with the access requirements, according to the current regulations. The accessibility of the facilities for people with disabilities is regularly evaluated, and every year the possible incidences are reviewed and solved in collaboration with the Vice Chancellor Office and the Technical Unit of the University of Vigo.

 

General services

Wi-Fi connection

The faculty premises count on a wireless connection to the University network and Internet. All the University community members have access to this service via the password linked to their personal or university email.
 

Online teaching resources

As a support to the on-site teaching activity, the University of Vigo makes available the IT platform FaiTIC with online resources developed for tele-training. This is a very useful tool both for the teaching staff and the students, as it enables a continued communication as well as the teaching material exchange, the performance of tests, etc. Nowadays, it is widely implemented in the teaching process in the centre.

 

Photocopy service

In the University Library there are photocopiers of unrestricted use, managed through a photocopy card. Moreover, in the Faculty there are photocopy services managed by an external company.

 

Cafeteria and catering services

There is a cafeteria in the service. In addition to that, there are coffee, drinks and food machines in the 0 and 1st floors, available for everyone. In the Campus there is a central catering service managed by an external company, which offers reduced prices, fixed by the University of Vigo.
